I don't know what the status of the CVS kde window decorator is - it
looks like it hasn't been updated in several weeks. But I use the
suggestion on the wiki at http://en.opensuse.org/Using_Xgl_on_SUSE_Linux
to use compiz with KDE:

----
To start compiz automatically, open kate, paste these lines shown below,
save it as compiz.desktop in /.kde/Autostart folder located in your home
directory

[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Exec=compiz --replace decoration wobbly fade minimize cube rotate zoom scale
move resize place switcher & gnome-window-decorator &
GenericName[en_US]=
StartupNotify=false
Terminal=false
TerminalOptions=
Type=Application
X-KDE-autostart-after=kdesktop
----

It works great for me.

Thanks,
Chad
