May be you have to post to suse ppc your question, but may be it s something
related to ieee1394 that in RC1 is still broken, I installed with
brokenmodules=ieee1394 option and in the installed system I deleted the
ieee1394 modules to prevent to load them anyway .
If your issue is not about firewire please post some more details.
