This seems to be known as https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=162302 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=162464 I disagree with the resolution in both cases, but maybe it's better to just not touch it any more if it works now and there were problems finding the executables in the past.
