What do you mean here?  Remove dependencies that are not actually required?
In that case I am all for it but don't actually know what to discuss about
that.  Remove all dependencies?  I guess this is not what you mean because
this does not really make sense.  Anything else?

I'd like to see that.  It's just that you need a reliable update path from old
installations but I guess you thought about that.

I don't have benchmark numbers for this but if it is faster and does not
generally break stuff then this does make sense.
