Don't do that! That way you are losing information that cannot be easily 
restored.

If there's a problem that cannot be resolved the "normal" way, you may delete 
the /var/lib/zmd/zmd.db file, but not everything in /var/lib/zmd and 
/var/lib/zypp.

This is already being worked on, as far as I know.

Wait for the next libzypp submission of version 2.4.0. Currently there is still 
version 2.3.0 in the factory tree, which is really old.
