Installation Source is any medium that contains one or more installable
Software Packages.

Software Repository is sorted collection of Software Packages (rpm, deb,
tar.gz, etc).
Catalog is describing repository content. (Felix Miata)

Channel would be communication way, like protocol and server to reach some
destination like Software Repository.

Is this would be appropriate as a naming schema?

Please see http://en.opensuse.org/Software_Vocabulary
and edit as appropriate.
