I installed openSUSE 10.3 Alpha 4 a few days ago and tested it.
Before a moment I added factory tree to sources and clicked "Check now" in opensuseupdater. After checking, it claims that there is nothing to update. Is it bug, or I do not understand something? :-| -- Rafał Miłecki
