Why compile? Videolan.org does have an opensuse repository :-)
Because we've always done so and it's no trouble. Things like libdvdcss,
libmad, faac, faad, mpeg2dec, ffmpeg and friends, FlightGear, svxlink,
mpeg4ip, mplayer, vlc, mencoder, mythtv and may be some others that are
not part of the distro or not as we would like them to be. The list is
not as long as it used to be, factory does a pretty good job of getting
the latest stuff up.
