I know that when I started to compile nvidia drivers it was not necessary to run any of above commands. Than someone asked for advice, and I pointed to article. Than he came again with error that I wasn't able to see before, so I checked, and it worked for me, but my kernel sources are usually configured, as nvidia is not only reason that I have them. After removing kernel sources, installing and trying again I found out that it doesn't work as before and put advice online.
