I tested again with a *clean* installation using the KDE 1-CD
installation media in a vmware session.
During installation I deseleceted to add online repositories, the rest
was a default installation without changing anything.
Registration went well, online update source was configured, patches are
shown when calling "zypper pch", but marked as "not applicable"
If it doesn't, please attach the test case generated by
zypper up --debug-solver
I will attach it to the bug.
Further findings:
- after updating libzypp manually using "zypper in libzypp", updates are
shown, so the bug has been fixed in libzypp
- updates do not use delta RPMs (kernel update, kdepim update), neither
using zypper, nor yast
- downloading the kernel rpm does not show a progress bar, seeing in the
logfile:
