Now for the really geeky, I tried to combine a CD-less boot of the
installation system

  http://en.opensuse.org/Installation_without_CD

with SLP to locate the installation server

  http://en.opensuse.org/Network_Installation_Source

The initial boot uses files initrd and linux from the mini ISO, booted
via grub. The server makes the DVD ISO available via ftp. SLP is
configured. But one seems to have to go through the ncurses yast manual
installation procedure, which does not offer an SLP option.

Is it possible to make this work somehow? SLP is a must for LAN-installs
requiring the minimum of user-action. Yes I'm still working on the
easiest way to get initrd/linux running ;)

Thanks,

Volker
