I do not know whether this is caused by the gcc update, but Firefox is
crashing for me too. I reported it at:

Yes, that looks like the same thing. So something is probably
miscompiled with gcc 4.3.
I need a factory installation obviously.

I've recently been having the very occasional firefox crash in 2.0.0.9
from mozilla.org that from the log appears to be due to the nvidia
module built with 4.3. NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-100.14.19-pkg2,
NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-100.14.23-pkg2 and NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-169.04-pkg2,
the latter resulting in a black screen with X still intact as I can "ssh
-X" in from another box, do init 3 and reboot. The black screen may
possibly be due to the NVIDIA driver rather than 4.3 as other people are
reporting other problems.
