Could try amdgpu? Or create a /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-radeon.conf and
add a tear free option?
I'm using amdgpu (obs compiled amdgpu kmp and later
xf86-video-amdgpu) with a R5 Mullins card on a DELL Inspiron 5555 laptop
and it runs great.
