I'm not a git expert, so expect many problems and question from me! :P
There's plenty of documentation for git.
If you're in doubt: Just download the files via the http interface,
change them - and send them here and ask that somebody commits on your
behalf.
AFAIK for sending pull request, you need to fork on github but that's an
easy task...
