Opensuse-factory's default install of Xen is, currently, v4.2.0_01. Iiuc, Xen 4.2 package installs, by default, the 'xl' toolstack and *disables* the xend/xendomains service inits.
With the now-deprecated xm/xend toolstack, Guest auto-start was done by a guest-config in /etc/xen/auto/* -- requiring that both xend/xendomains service were started.
