the better way (ie the one I use most of the time :-) is to
type in the text the name of the image where it's needed
without worrying of the image itself. The link looks red.
afterward, when clicking on the link, you are asked to
upload it. If you upload the image first, you have to
remember it's exact name (with case and extension). You can
also use the Special:Newimages page
Additionally, I find it hard working on the wiki documantation.
You will soon have forgotten the luxury of WYSIWYG :-)
and practice makes perfect.
