Hello,
* Tony<[email protected]> [2011-09-12 17:08]:
I post the below in the opensuse forum, and no one was able to help
me there. So I'm re-posting here.
Basically after update to 11.4 from 11.3 nothing that uses gtk icons
works, I've searched the web all over and tried different fixes I've
found from re-generating icon caches, files in etc, nothing works.
For now the only fix is to drop back down to 11.3, which i did on my
production laptop, my desktop is still on 11.4 so I have a guinea
pig to test on.
Any help appreciate.
Thanks in advance
Tony
=========================
I recently update 2 pc's from 11.3 to 11.4 both using same repo's
for non-oss,oss,update and kde release 4.7
After the update any program that needs an icon via gtk, does not display.
For example in firefox 6.02 the go forward, go backword, home icons
do not show (workaround for now is I installed a diff theme in
firefox).
When I run firefox from the command line I get a long list of
errors as seen below. The Unrecognized image file format repeats
itself what changes is the icon name in ''
laptops@tslaptop:~> firefox

XFCE 4.8, is completly screwed up with no icons showing for anything.
Prior to the update everything worked fine
Any suggestions / help appreciated.
have you tried switching the icon theme to Sonar?
Can't recall if I tried Sonar, I did several others, and can't recall
the Icon name set. Over the weekend I took the desktop back to 11.3.
So no test machine now, in the near future might try upgrade to 11.4
again, this is 3 time, I've tried and third time I've dropped back to
11.3 due to major issues in 11.4, I've got a spare hard drive so going
to clone desktop and try again perhaps.
Thanks,
Tony
