I'd like to return bugging (warning) this list with an info about continuing issues with the xf86-video-intel driver.
Just 3 days ago, the new version of this driver bricked all of my graphics because of incompatibilities with openSUSE's 3.11 kernel (see previous posts in this thread). Now, the newest version from X11:Org, xf86-video-intel-2.99.912-125.1.x86_64.rpm seems to run properly at 1st sight, but then it turns out that it severely breaks major software relying on proper graphics systems installed. In my case it is the CAS Mathematica: with the xf86-video-intel-2.99.912-125.1.x86_64.rpm installed, Mathematica has stopped to display 3D graphics. I filed a bug report directly at the https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=79999 , but (as to be expected) the developers from there offered assistance beyond my capabilities.
