hello, I just installed SUPER CD 1 based on OpenSuSE 10.0 beta 4
Machine : Athlon 1700+, 265 DDR RAM, Nforce1 Motherboard, Geforce 2 MX 32 MB, 80GB 7200rpm Hdd. This is a **quick** review. Spent around 30 minutes with it. - Took around 25 minutes to install. It went smooth. - After install the network configuation and rest had to be done in text mode (no gui available) :( - Somehow managed to do it :) - Shows a buch of errors below the login screen (dont like it there) - No yast available by default. It show in KDE Control center (Yast modules) - but nothing happens when clicked - I need to setup network and dsl before downloading the yast packages. And network configuration is in yast. I can use console...but where's the fun ;) - It is definetly faster than any other distro I have ever used (including [k]ubuntu) - All hardware was detected. - Suspend mode works Speed : - 30 seconds to boot to Login screen - 5 seconds to boot into KDE after login - 6-7 seconds to start OpenOffice 2.0 Writer - 4-5 seconds to start Firefox - 24 seconds to Shutdown Yaa need to spend more time with opensuse.
