Indeed, especially during an upgrade changes in grub, lilo or whatevr
bootloader should not be done. Some people use third party bbootloaders
and don't want either grub or lilo.

With a new instalation you can go to advanced and disable whatever you
like. With an update, enableing grun should be off by default.
