What CPU-Schema did you choose in kpowersave?

If the printer is set up with cups on the other machine:
start kprinter->Systempreferences->CUPS-Server and change "localhost" to 
the name of the other machine. Should work out-of-the box.

You will get a nice text-mode boot-menu.
