Hello, I have just uploaded some Packman ( http://packman.links2linux.de/ ) packages compiled for PPC to ftp://spike.fa.gau.hu/pub/pmppc/ , which give PPC openSUSE the missing multimedia functionalities. It has enhanced KDE multimedia support, all kinds of audio and video support (only for those formats, which have OSS drivers, as Win32Codecs do not work here...), and some additional utilities.
Just add it as an additional idditional installation source, and you are ready to install the packages. Some notes: - all packages were compiled on a G4 Pegasos ( http://www.pegasosppc.com/products.php ) - I added some CFLAGS, which seem to improve speed and lower CPU usage on G4. These are: "-mtune=G4 -maltivec -mabi=altivec" (borrowed from Gentoo's /etc/make.conf). I read the gcc man page, but I'm still not sure, if it breaks compatibilty with non Altivec PPC processors or not. I don't have access to other PPC processors, so please test it, and let me know. I'll recompile without it (or make a non optimized tree as well, if there is problem with it).
