I understand your argument, and I suspect an unintentional consequence
of it, is that a web forum is actually justified using it. If one
assumes that the openSUSE wiki is justified, there is an argument that
an openSUSE web forum is justified (or one could argue that neither
should exist as they both duplicate different existing resources).

You have to break some eggs to make an omelette. A single openSUSE
forum, will be a bigger gain, than the possible loss of several
existing and fragmented SUSE forums. Needless to say, that last
sentence is my opinion, and you may not agree...

ps [OT] GMail's spell checker has "penises" as a suggested correction
for "openSUSE"...it must be talking about the mailing list :-)
