Shows the BuildRequires in my smart.spec is correct ;)

Yes. I chose not to add python-gtk as a "Requires:" in the spec file (a "hard" 
requirement) because
smart works when you don't have python-gtk installed, it's just the GUI that 
doesn't work.
smart detects at runtime whether you have it or not.

Unfortunately RPM doesn't support "soft requirements" (or "recommendations").
