I've been working with NetWare since version 3.11 (I have installed 2.15 ELS but that was after 3.11 came out) this is about 14 or so years, for most of that in the press there have been reports that NetWare or Novell is dead, going to be dead within weeks etc. I have no real idea why this is, yes there are lots of things that Novell are very bad at (OK a few, Marketing springs to mind, and the whole WordPerfect debacle). It's only now that NetWare is really looking like it's going to die/be reborn into NetWare services running on Linux. Anyway the point of this (yes there is one) is that I really sorry that SUSE is now going to be hit with years of reports about how it's going to die, be re-sold off, be completely re-written to run on top of Windows but there seems to be some sort of curse with the press and Novell (perhaps they don't spend enough on adverts? no surely not, the IT press cannot be bought by a few ads?). Right off to drink more beer and plan my move to Bermuda.
