I also had this behaviour once IIRC, but it was not reproduceable.

It should kill the X-Server.

Yes. Please make sure you have SysRq enabled in /etc/sysconfig/sysctl
(ENABLE_SYSRQ="yes")

Here's a (perhaps not-so-good) translation:

The borg simply are a allegory of M$: big, great and full of features - 
but when it becomes serious, they die because of a protection fault.
