No sorry, it was a typo. I mean under "start)", so that
/etc/rc.d/alsasound looks like (near line 140):
start)

start_rest
rc_status -v
else
echo -n "Starting sound driver"
load_modules && start_rest
fi
;;
this force the drivers to be reloaded.
