PPTP doesn't use port 1723 to pass the actual data, it does this with
what is called IP Protocol 47. You generally want a router with
specific PPTP pass-through.

I would bet that sticking PPTP and the manufacturer of your router in
Google would give you some leads on how to set it up.

You do not have a SUSE problem.
