There will most certainly be contracts. If Company A wants to use the DRM
from comapny B, they will sign a contract. I can imagine that these are in
some way different as they might be negotiable per album, per artist or
per whatever.

Perhaps they sign a excusive contract as to not have a different DRM from
another company, but as there is no monopoly on DRM this is a different
issue then what M$ did.

What we need to do is to think how, not if, we are going to deal with this.
