Maybe it can help him - he should check his browser settings for the 
"preferred languages" setting.

The Novell page autoselects the language based on the Accept-Language 
header sent by the browser - if it contains "de", you will see the 
german version.

(BTW: you can change the language by clicking in the page header - the 
displayed country and language are a link. If you do so, your preferred 
language will be stored in a cookie.)

The opensuse.org page doesn't automatically switch the language - but it 
would be an enhancement if _www_.opensuse.org would redirect to the 
localized wiki. (Of course, $lang.opensuse.org should not redirect to 
another language.)
