Hi,
I seem to be having some more problems with the [usb-storaqge] module
logging excessive messages to /proc/kmsg (dmesg).
I am using Opensuse 10.0 (2.6.13-15.8-default). This happens when I
connect an external usb hdd (300gb seagate). The drive connects no
problem, and I can see the drive and access it BUT the module
[usb-storage] seems to be logging EVERY access to the external usb-hdd
to /proc/kmsg (dmesg). (several thousand lines and it is continuous -
see sample below). When I rsync the drive with my master hdd (for
example) the "top" command seems to indicate that a LOT of excessive
time is spent in [usb-storage].
Is there any way to turn this kind of logging and reporting off??
Another issue is that when I hot-plug the usb-hdd - it does an "auto"
mount to /media/usbdisk - is there any way top turn that off??
Much thanks for any help and/or insight into this issue.
