It actually works fine for me on an AMD64 system. nVidia Corporation
NV34, GeForce FX 5200 (MSI branded), nVidia binary driver (installed
using the tiny-nvidia-installer) and a TwinView setup.

Xine plays DVDs like a charm and mpg/avi/... etc work fine as well (in
totem, mplayer, xine). The only issue I have is that MythTV crashes the
Xgl as soon as playback starts. But there seems to be a solutions well
(-> http://moosy.blogspot.com/2006/04/mythtv-and-xglcompiz.html).
