Hi Johannes, First, I've had no sound problems in 10.0 or 10.1 under either GNOME or KDE. I think your problems are related to the hardware and driver/module. Have you tried a) closing the volume control, b) loading the mixer *that works* after running rcalsasound reload then c) logging out with the mixer minimized (in the taskbar) and clicking the 'save settings' checkbox at the prompt? Also, if you'd like to continue this discussion, can you please start a new thread on the suse-linux-e list?
