did you try cdrecord or growisofs alone?
on my 10.0 k3b can't write a given make of dvd+r.
commandline works. I can see that it needs many retries to
get the writting to start and k3b gave up too quickly.
(others kinds ov dvd write without problem - I didn't have
time to test 10.1)
