I would like to discuss the criteria for software release decisions. I don't read factory, so sorry, if this was discussed there. But in future I would really like the community to be asked, if features like the packages selection in yast are dumped. There is no replacement, and it is an important feature in heterogenous environments, where autoyast is not feasible. So is it until now simply up to the coder of zypp, which features are supported and which ones not? As this "bug" was reported before the final release, what are the criteria for decisions in the beta phase? Manager (who wants SUSE Linux as test bed for the enterprise version) over release engineer?

And please, here no discussion about package selections or autoyast, but about the criteria for decisions in the software release. 10.1, IMHO, proved that there is room for improvement.

Ciao
Siegbert
