you mistaken when burning the cd. You already downloaded ISO
images, that is real cd images.
they must be written AS CD not AS FILES.
With windows/nero, this i on the "writer" menu, on Linux K3b
on the tools menu
and you don't need to make it bootable, it's already. Just
burn the image
