Title: Open office issue & integration

Hi,
I discovered a problem with the Novell version of open office install as part of Suse 10 64bit.
A document that was shared with colleagues and saved in office 1.1 format could no longer be saved
in my - more up to date - version of office. Saving in either 2.0 or 1.1 format hangs at about
80% and ultimately causes office to restart. Unfortunately I can't post the document as a failing
test case since it contains confidential information.
I decided to install open-office 2.0.3 to get around the problem. yast -i *.rpm successfully
installs office to /opt/openoffice.org2.0. That is I can run e.g. swriter from that directory.
I am also now able to save the document that previous caused problems.
However the desktop integration does not seem to work. No links are installed in /usr/bin and
no menu options appear in gnome. When I attempt to install the SUSE rpm in the desktop-integration
subdirectory it hangs. Installing it directly with rpm doesn't seem to do anything either. Though
I do have to uninstall it with -e after a failed yast install. Any ideas what is happening here?
Is it a Suse 64bit issue?
                          Regards,
                                  Bruce.
