I think your phone should be seen as a modem, usually /dev/ttyUSB0.  It's not 
autodetected.  Install minicom and see if you get a response trying to 
connect to /dev/ttyUSB0.  If you have success, then set up a dial-up 
connection as usual, but keep in mind that these phones have have a "magic" 
AT command to make them connect.  This AT command is particular to every 
device (and ISP maybe), so you need to search the net for that.  Or, the 
Windows driver might have an .ini file with the magic AT in it.
