Absolutely.  I rip all my CDs in ogg format, and my kids have to put up with 
it, even though they probably feel that mp3 would be easier for them.  But 
once you drink some clue-juice, you have to admit that this sort of purity 
may not be possible for everyone.  They may work in situations where they 
*have* to use proprietary formats like Quicktime or WMV.  Do you ignore this, 
or try to grapple with it?  Ideally you ignore it, but suppose the only thing 
holding them back from switching to Linux is running these proprietary 
formats?  And how many people on this list have Packman's w32codecs 
installed?  Quite a few, I think.  To my mind you might as well do this 
upfront and openly instead of keeping it as a back-alley thing.  It doesn't 
mean you stop evangelising about free formats, but once someone has made a 
switch to Linux they're far more likely to see what you're getting at than if 
they're marooned on Windows with a bunch of proprietary files they can't work 
on using anything else.
