I have been downloading RPM files with FF for years without this problem.
I suspect that during the initial starting of FF and a download you
probably "told" FF to play any .rpm files rather than saving them to disk.
Go Edit>Preferences>Main>Contents and find RPM files and alter what FF
is to do with them.
