No, I am not talking about a different thing. The SuSE Tbird packages contain the required patch (changelog[1]: added backend patch to allow replies to list with ReplyToListThunderbirdExtension), so you DON'T need version 3 of TBird. You can use the Reply-All button (which I think is a bad idea) or install the extension (as now already mentioned several times) and you get a Reply-To-List button and a Delete-Thread button. The latter is indeed veeery useful on this list! And please don't come back and say it does not work or exist because I have been using this feature for quite a long time: it works very well!
