You were remarking not about the substance of some matter of discussion, 
but the nature of the uses of this list. How one signs is a matter of 
how one uses the list. And when someone who will not even identify him 
or herself wants to weigh in on acceptable or unacceptable uses of the 
list, I think there is at least a little irony afoot.

I believe that if one is supplying factual answers to technical 
questions, ostensibly the primary purpose of this list, then using 
pseudonyms or posting anonymously are of no consequence.

But when posting one's opinions, I think it's cowardly not to associate 
yourself with those opinions. And I believe that's so even if none of 
us were ever to meet or have any interactions beyond this list and I 
believe it despite the inability of any of us to confirm the stated 
identities.
