Maybe you better post three sections of your xorg.conf file so someone
can suggest what next:
Monitor
Screen
Device
Also, any (EE) lines from /var/log/Xorg.0.log should be instructive.
SaX.log might also be helpful.

There were no EEs from my Xorg.0.log file, only these few WWs from that file.
