After installing both Suse 10.2 and FedoraCore 6 and banging around on 
both of them a little, my impressions are:

Both installations went very well, no surprises.

FC-6 uses Gnome; KDE is available but not installed. Gnome is better 
than I remember, but still sucks in comparison. 

FC-6, in its distributed form, is less capable than Suse 10.2 but is 
still adequate for many home users. 

FC-6's update tools are un-intuitive and clumsy to change. Once mastered 
they work well, but the mastering is a pain.

I could go on but the point is that Suse 10.2, for me, is a better 
distro. YMMV
