I went to install with SMART, then found there's no RPM for 10.1 (or 10.2, 
BTW), so I decided to download the source and take my chances.

Either I'm no longer qualified to act as a newbie or this is getting too easy. 
I downloaded the .bz2 file by typinging in:

tar jxvf wlassistant-0.5.6.tar.bz2

Did a ./configure, make, su, make install and voila!
