Yes, I should have said that the thumb drive works on my WinXP system on
the same computer. I also installed SuSE 10.2 on another computer
(PIII, 256 Mb; installation was smooth, unlike my current HP Pavilion
a1520n), and the thumb drive worked fine. I did say that, initially, I
had no problems with the thumb drive. Something changed. I don't know
if it was a configuration file (unlikely), a deleted rpm, an added rpm,
a Yast update, or something else. I will try to 'update' (overwrite) my
installation, but I saw a message for a similar situation that was
unsuccessful.
