But why has that same particular track worked for the last year in that case?
Besides, i used lame. Which to my knowledge isn't SuSE
If i switch from ALSA plugin to either esd or arts, it works as expected..

By some obscure reason ALSA stopped playing this particular mp3 "out of the 
blue".
I haven't made any updates for a while, so its not a new plugin...
