Hi,
I don't have this GPU but I do own a Geforce 4 Ti4200 - 128 Mo -AGP 8X (older)
which is not recognised by Xgl hardware database. Well, I think some of these
cards are recognised because I believe it is listed in the supported
hardware. Anyway, launching gnome-xgl-settings tells that it is not supported
but might work and that 3D and Xgl are enable.
Xgl + compiz works great, although Beryl just give a white cube.
So, even if gnome-xgl-settings tells that the card is not supported, you
should give it a try. Go on runlevel 3, and enable xgl, then go back to init
5.
It might work.
Cheers,
Matthias
