Stan, I had all the codec etc installed before not in this one because I was trying to isolate the problem. Your thougth that If CD works the problem is not with ide-scsi make sense. Does k3b uses growisofs to burn cd as well. It seems the problems is with growisofs which also crashes when I call it from CLI.
What is driving nuts is that I had suse 10.1 ruunning perfect with mythtv complete with dvd creation, video editing etc and now with 10.2 I can not even burn simple data dvd! BTW the hardware is the sama and the suse installation is a clean one (each partition is formated) THXS terry -----Original Message----- From: S Glasoe <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subj: Re: [opensuse] growisofs dvd burner broken Date: Tue Jan 16, 2007 2:51 pm Size: 2K To: [email protected] Don't know the hardware details. If you aren't having problems burning CDs then I doubt that ide-scsi is an issue. Due to legal concerns in the USA and Germany over proprietary codecs and license fees, openSUSE does not support mp3 and encrypted DVD playback from a normal install.
