I actually have two kde menu items for xmms.

1) CheckHardware --sound xmms %U
2) xmms %f

What is that CheckHardware bit? I can't find a man page for it
but if typed with no arguments it says:
Usage: CheckHardware [OPTION] <command> [command options]

Available options:

  --sound check sound
  --3D check 3D
